Uncovering the Root Cause of Chronic Itching Through Naturopathy
A 23-year-old patient came with a complaint of generalized body itching that had persisted for the past six months. Prior to consulting me, she had undergone treatments in both homeopathy and allopathy with no results.
To understand the underlying causes of her condition, I first advised her to undergo a blood test. The results showed that her CRP and cat - specific igE levels were elevated, while her ESR levels were within the normal range. Her hemoglobin and other blood count values were also normal.
Based on her assessment, we initiated a targeted naturopathic and dietary intervention. The treatment plan included an enema and strict dietary guidance: she was advised to completely avoid milk, all kinds of non-vegetarian food, sugar, and eggs, while incorporating supportive herbal infusions into her daily food intake. For home care, we recommended the application of a ganji-turmeric pack. Additionally, I asked the patient to meticulously track the timing of her itching episodes—specifically noting when the itching increased, what triggered it, and when it decreased.
Through this careful observation and analysis, we concluded that she was suffering from itching caused by her pet cat at home. We advised her to maintain distance from the cat. Through this targeted avoidance, alongside our naturopathy and dietary guidance, she is now completely free from itching.
