Overcoming Bilateral Calcaneal Spur Pain Through Integrated Yoga and Naturopathy
Recently, a female patient visited my practice presenting with severe pain in both heels that significantly impaired her ability to walk properly.
To determine the underlying cause, I advised her to undergo a bilateral foot X-ray. The imaging revealed calcaneal spurs in both feet.
To address her condition, I designed a targeted care plan utilizing naturopathic modalities and therapeutic exercises. The treatment protocol included:
- Ultrasound therapy
- Paraffin wax therapy
- Warm foot baths with Epsom salt
- Specific stretches: big toe stretch, wall-supported squat calf stretch, seated calf stretches using a towel, downward dog pedals, and plantar flexion exercises utilizing a resistance band.
After just one week of following this structured regimen, the patient experienced a remarkable improvement. She reported having only very mild heel pain, which occurred exclusively after walking long distances. She was very happy with the results.
