Case Report: Integrative Management of Chronic Low Back Pain and Associated Symptoms

As a practitioner specializing in Yoga & Naturopathy, Diet & Nutrition, Diet Therapy, Integrative Clinical Practice, Integrative Pain Medicine, and Lifestyle Disease Management, I often encounter patients with complex, overlapping health concerns. Recently, I evaluated a 66-year-old female patient at Shri Shivalaya Holistic Natural Healing Hospital who presented with chronic low back pain radiating to the right leg, a condition she had experienced for approximately six months.

Clinical Presentation and History

In addition to her primary complaint of radiating low back pain, the patient reported experiencing headaches and disturbed sleep. A thorough review of her medical history revealed two notable long-term conditions: hypothyroidism, which she had managed for about five years, and fatty liver disease, diagnosed approximately one year prior.

Her surgical history was also carefully noted during the initial assessment. She had undergone an appendectomy in 1991 and mandibular surgery in 1997.

Integrative Care Approach

Given the combination of musculoskeletal pain, sleep disturbances, headaches, and pre-existing chronic conditions, the patient was admitted to our facility. The primary objective of her admission was a comprehensive assessment followed by the management of her symptoms through an integrative care framework. By combining approaches from Yoga & Naturopathy, diet therapy, and lifestyle disease management, our aim is to address the root causes of discomfort while supporting overall systemic health and recovery.
